A DNA research project is underway to test St. Clair/Sinclair ancestry worldwide.

This is the Website for the European side of the Project.  The Americas site is http://www.stclairresearch.com

Here we will collect our individual information and help each other build our network of tested Sinclairs around the world. Membership is growing quickly and we're constantly testing more of our extended clan.

Our goal is to enhance our understanding of the family and back up the extensive documents research spanning back nearly 1,500 years.

There is no cost for joining this research. There is a cost, of course, for getting your DNA tested.

We're adding a second test to each of our six lineages. We've been contacted by Ethno Ancestry (www.ethnoancestry.com) regarding testing our family for a specific set of markers we are suspected of having which point to a subgroup they're calling S21. Three other Sinclairs, 2 from Orkney and 1 from the Shetlands, have shown up with markers which point to this subgoup Click here to learn more about this next test. The Mi'kmaq testing is coming.
